🇪🇺🇷🇺 Russian hackers paralyzed European Investment Bank for 10 days

Hackers from Russian group KILLNET and their allies from Anonymous Sudan attacked the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Hackers reportedly brought a virus into the European Investment Bank that paralyzed the operation of the entire bank system for 10 days.

The authorized capital of the European Investment Bank is €248 billion. Some users are reportedly unable to access the website.

"We are currently facing a cyber attack which affects the availability of eib.org and eif.org. We are responding to the incident," the EIB said.

The hackers noted that the attack was not a DDoS attack, as KILLNET and its allies often practiced in the past. Not only the organization's website, but also the internal employee portal stopped working as a result of their actions, according to KILLNET.

"As a result of the malware infection, the EIB's inter-network infrastructure was paralyzed. According to the information we have, the entire bank and its functionality will not work for at least ten days," KILLNET representatives said.

KILLNET further announced that this attack is the first stage of a large-scale cyber attack on the European banking system.

"Each day will be followed by an attack on new targets, with more to follow. Tomorrow there will be a group attack on several financial institutions, while we will not give up on the EIB either," Killnet hackers said.

They finally showed up
