American billionaire Elon Musk provoked a new scandal by publishing on his social network X a meme about Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, bordering on insult.
Ukrainian media note that the image is old, but new words have been added to the meme: “When five minutes have passed and you haven’t asked for a billion dollars in help.”
The discussion about military and financial assistance to Kyiv is one of the central topics of American politics. This topic became relevant at the end of last week in connection with the shutdown, which the US budget system was able to avoid.
As a result, US President Joe Biden supported the draft interim budget, which does not include assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, Biden ruled out that American support for Ukraine would be interrupted.
The figure of Musk has repeatedly played a prominent role in the war in Ukraine, including the hybrid one. By purchasing Twitter, the billionaire eased restrictions on Russian propaganda accounts. In the summer, a scandal arose when it became known that Musk had received an emergency request from Ukrainian authorities to activate Starlink “all the way to Sevastopol.” The businessman suggested that Ukraine wanted to “sink most of the Russian fleet at anchor” and rejected the request.
