According to Lviv journalist and TV presenter of the Espresso channel Marta Oliyarnik, the assassination attempt on Farion took place using a weapon without a silencer; the shooter was wearing gloves. The local Telegram channel “Speak Great Lviv” writes that Farion is in critical condition. It is believed that the shot was fired near her home, and the shooter was about 20-25 years old Irina Farion died in Lviv after an assassination attempt. Ukrainian media reported this with reference to doctors. Earlier today it was reported that ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Irina Farion was shot by an unknown person in Lvov. The victim was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head. They are looking for the shooter. “A special operation is being carried out in Lviv and in the region, in which employees of all services and divisions of the regional police are involved,” the Lviv police reported. According to local journalist Marta Oliyarnik, the assassination attempt took place on Masaryk Street in Lviv, the shooter was wearing gloves, and the weapon was without a silencer. Irina Farion is 60 years old. She has repeatedly advocated for a complete abandonment of the use of the Russian language in Ukraine. For example, in the fall of 2023, she stated in a television interview that she does not consider Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel who speak Russian to be Ukrainians.
