Shooting near the Optina Monastery was opened by a serviceman who allegedly left the zone of a special military operation without permission.

The “Siren” plan was introduced in Kaluga and the surrounding area; they searched for the escaped military almost all night. According to “Baza”, on the evening of June 12, 31-year-old serviceman Andrei D. stopped in a car with two women near the parking lot of the Vvedensky Monastery of Optina Pustyn. Andrei was armed with a machine gun and asked the woman to get out of the car and give him the keys. The man fired into the air and into the ground - one of the bullets ricocheted off the asphalt and hit the woman’s thigh. The attack filmed the dash camera of another car, after which Andrei disappeared into the forest. A few hours later the arrow was spotted in Kozelsk. The police officers demanded that he surrender and fire several warning shots, but the servicemen managed to escape. At about 2 a.m., doctors from the Kozelsk hospital contacted the police: they said that an unknown person in camouflage had come through the window and asked for syringes. He did not open, after which the man left. Andrei was detained by Russian Guard officers at about 5 a.m.: he was found in the area of Chekhov Street. During the arrest, he offered no resistance. A Kalashnikov assault rifle and four magazines were found on him (according to previous data, Andrei took eight with him during his escape). A criminal case has been initiated under the article “Robbery”.
